If you are a fan of movies and films, you can visit the city during the Nashville Film Festival season so you can watch different types of films from all over the world.

 

 

The Zoo

Pay the zoo a visit if you are an animal lover or if you bring along your kids during your holiday in the city. The Nashville Zoo has over 300 species of animals, some of which you can even touch, feed, or pet.

 

When to go to Nashville

The best time to visit Nashville is during the summer season which runs from April to October. This summer period is when most of the events take place, like the Country Music Festival in June, Southern Ground Music and Food Festival in September. The colorful Music City Eats is also held in September.

If you are active in sports, you might be interested in joining the Rock and Roll Half Marathon which takes place in April. Average temperature during the month of April ranges from 21ºC to 32ºC (70ºF to 90ºF).

Although the winter season of November through March is not the peak travel season, you can still catch the CMA Awards in November and Christmas at Belmont from November to January.

The Nashville Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is part of a rock themed marathon series that has been enjoyed by thousands of people since they started in 1998. If you have ever run a marathon, you know how important it can be to feel motivated. The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon series is known for having live rock bands performing along the routes and special themed water and nutrition stations along the way. The Nashville Rock 'n' Roll Marathon is held annually in the month of April and will take you on a run along the inner city of Nashville where a local bands will entertain you with the special Nashville sound as you run. Even if you are not an experienced runner, you can take part in the festivities by just cheering for the people running or taking part in the shorter distances. Either way it is sure to be a great experience!

The best golf in Nashville is played in Donelson, an area north-east of the city center. Here you will find Two Rivers Golf Course with scenic views of the Nashville skyline, Hermitage Golf Course, where you sometimes have to wait for passing sheep, the challenging Gaylord Springs Golf Links and Edwin Watts Golf Club. All of these courses are located within walking distance and they are all great 18 hole public courses. There are also many more courses spread out in the area surrounding the city, so you will have even more choices when you are in Nashville!

The two popular water parks in Nashville are Nashville Shores and Wave Country. The local favorite is Nashville Shores and it offers you loads of family fun with their thrilling water rides and pools.
