Jacksonville Zoo

For starters, the Jacksonville Zoo covers 110 acres and has more than 2,000 animals. The main attractions are the Range of the Jaguar, which shows animals of the rainforest, as well as African Savannah animals and the Great Apes of the World exhibit.


Symphony Orchestra

Music lovers can go listen to the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, which plays programs at the Robert E. Lee Symphony Hall. They also hold educational programs for children and have 130 concerts a year, plus there is a youth version of the orchestra as well.




Sports fans can go watch the Jacksonville Jaguars, a professional football team in the American Football League. They play their games at the EverBank Field in the downtown area.



If you love water fun, then go to the Jacksonville Beach where you can have fun with swimming, boating, fishing, windsurfing, getting a tan or just jogging down the beach.

Come in mid-March for the Great Atlantic Seafood and Music Festival, while April brings the Springing the Blues Festival and the Jacksonville Jazz Festival is in May with many talented artists from all over the country coming to participate in this weekend event.

Jacksonville Marathon

If you are looking for a fast race with little elevation, perfect for setting a new record, the Jacksonville Marathon might be the one for you. The race starts at Bolles School on San Jose Boulevard and goes south on the east side of the St Johns River, does a loop and then goes back towards the finish line at Bolles School. Apart from them main marathon the event also features a half-marathon and a 5k, so if you're a casual runner there is something for you as well.
