Krabi is a southern province on Thailand’s Andaman seaboard, with perhaps the country’s oldest history of continued settlement. Much of the province has been the seat of several national parks and attractions that make Krabi the perfect holiday destination.
There are a lot of fun things to do in Krabi while on vacation, especially if you like beach life and outdoor experiences!
Visit the Thung Teao Forest Natural Park or the Wat Tham Sua, Krabi’s Tiger Cave.
Experience the sensation of sitting in a bath tub hollowed out from nature’s stone and surrounded by rainforest, found only at the therapeutic and soothing Krabi Hot Springs. When you’ve had enough of the 35-40 degree Celsius waters of the hot springs you can go diving or swimming in the cool stream these jungle baths filter into.
On your holiday vacation visit one of Thailand’s most sought-after beach areas, Railay Beach.
Appease your archaeological interests by visiting Susan Hoi, Krabi’s shell cemetery.
Stop by Krabi Town and encounter the buzzing activities surrounding the river, like the lively nightlife and the exciting night market.
Comfortably journey from Krabi to Phuket and back via the reliable Phuket Ferry.
Weather-wise, the ideal time to visit Krabi is in late January to March, when you will enjoy near-perfect conditions: calm, glassy seas; clear blue skies; moderate temperatures; and only a tiny chance of a shower burst. Some people prefer to visit Krabi in the ‘rainy’ season, May to November despite the risk of showers, because it is cooler, cheaper and much less crowded. No matter what time you choose however, Krabi ensures that visitors are continually entertained all year round and that there’s always things to do in Krabi. There are also annual festivals and events held in Krabi to excite and entice the masses; for example the Chak Phra Festival and the Sat Duan Sip Festival (Festival of the Tenth Lunar Month).
