The Santiburi Samui Country Club is the only 18 hole course on the Chumphon Archipelago island. The course was opened in 2003 and has earned the nickname "The Beast of Samui" for its difficulty and the extreme elevation. The course consists of fairways winding up and down, greens on top of hills and down in valleys, both contributing to the overall difficulty in not always see what is ahead of the next hilltop.
