City Park

If you are looking for things to do in Skopje you should definitely head over to the City Park. It offers different amenities for its visitors. Within the wide expanse of the City Park are tennis courts, ponds, restaurants, and cafes. You can also find a zoo, a stadium, and an amusement park within the park grounds.



At night, the restaurants and cafes in the City Park transform into wild nightlife venues where people can hang out and have fun. There are also other bars and clubs throughout the city. Casinos are also popular destinations at night.


When to go to Skopje

Skopje has four distinct seasons. Summers are hot and humid, with average temperatures typically rising above 31°C (88°F) while winters are cold and wet, with temperatures averaging at 6°C (43°F) during the day and falls below freezing at night. In the spring and autumn seasons, the mean average temperatures range from 15 to 24°C (59 to 75°F). The rainiest months are October to December and April to June.



There are different many events and festivities held in the city throughout the year. If you travel to Skopje in October, you may witness the Skopje Jazz Festival. The month of November sees the Autumn Music festival, which celebrates classical, pop, jazz, and other genres of music. In March, the Skopje Film Festival is held.


Skopje Marathon

Running as well as watching the marathon is one of many popular things to do in Skopje. The marathon takes place in May each year and it features a full marathon, half marathon, and 5K race categories.

Skopje Opera House

Macedonian Opera and Ballet

Built in the 1980's by an ensemble of architects including Stefan Kacin, Yuri Princes, Bogdan Spindler and Marian Ursic, this modern day opera house has been the pride of Skopje since its founding. Skopje Marathon

The annual Skopje Marathon is hosted every year in May and there is also a half-marathon and a 5K run organized. You run along the streets of Skopje and the full marathon is two laps of the half-marathon. Keep in mind that you need to be at least 18 years old to run the full marathon, the half-marathon has an age limit of 16.
