Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia, is the perfect holiday destination because of its natural beauty and metropolitan area. You can walk through beautiful dry riverbeds in the desert or shop at one of the many downtown malls. If you are traveling with children, the Riyadh Zoo is another great place to spend the day looking at exotic animals including local camels and wonderful flora.
You can also visit Dubai fairly easily from Riyadh and see some of the world-famous buildings and attractions there, such as indoor skiing and towering skyscrapers.
Riyadh has a desert climate with extremely hot and dry summers, so be sure to bring plenty of water if you visit during this time. Winter has cooler temperatures averaging around 15 °C (60 °F), making the season a more popular time to visit the city.
If you catch the football season during your vacation, try to see one of the incredible football games at the King Fahad Stadium where thousands of people come together to cheer on their favorite team.
