Between January and March the climate is very hot, sometimes over 37.8 degrees Celsius (100℉). In September and October the temperature drops back to around 20 ℃ (70 ℉). The climate is called “Tropical Savannah”, with a heavy rainy season from December until March.
One of the most exciting events in Rio de Janeiro is the Rio de Janeiro Carnival. This holiday is held for four days at the beginning of February. It is complete with costumes, music, parades, food and lots of other fun events.
