Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven Arab Emirates, is a beautiful collection of cities, natural attractions, and historic sites. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing and unique holiday where you can experience the great hospitality of the local people.
There’s plenty to see as well as a variety of things to do in Ras Al Khaimah. One of the most unique attractions being the great camel races. Go out to the track and watch camels speed through the desert sands as the crowd grows with excitement.
Relax along the Ras Al Khaimah Beach where there is plenty of space and soft sand.
Walk through the Old City and see the old souq, or outdoor marketplace. Stroll through the outdoor souqs and shop for bright and beaded gifts for yourself and your loved ones. You can also check out the historic mosque and visit the Al Hisn Fort which is an incredible structure where you can learn more about the local history.
You can easily take a trip to Dubai, the most famous city in the region where massive skyscrapers, man-made islands, and indoor skiing continue to make headlines.
Play a round of golf in one of the two golf clubs in the city which have excellent facilities.
If you have kids, try to spend a day at the fantastic Ice Land Water Park where you can ride down huge slides and swim all day.
Ras Al Khaimah has a desert climate and is hot year round, with cooler winters hovering around 20 °C (65 °F). Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen no matter when you visit, plus modest clothing in order to respect the local Muslim culture and religion.
Finally, if you visit during the religious month of fasting, Ramadan, which occurs in the summer, make sure not to eat or drink in public as a sign of respect.
