UNESCO World Heritage Sites Prague - Historic Centre of Prague

Prague is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and its historic centre is mainly the reason why. The site appears on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 1992 for being a model in central Europe in many areas, ranging from the arts to science and politics. By taking a walk in the historic centre you will see the richness of its architecture: buildings with styles from the Middle Ages onwards including Gothic, Baroque and Modern styles fill the streets with examples such as the Powder Tower, Saint Nicholas Church or the Lennon Wall respectively.

Prague Opera House

Státní opera

Located between parks Celakovskeho and Riegrovy, the Státni Opera (The State Opera) has been the main venue for opera in Prague since its founding in 1888. During the Second World War, the Státni Opera was one of few bastions of democracy that stood tall against the Nazi terror that dominated most of Europe. Even though the Státni Opera attach great importance to their historical roots, the opera house is today one of the more progressive in terms of the productions that they perform.

MARATHON

Volkswagen Prague Marathon

Run in the world's most international marathon, Volkswagen Prague Marathon. It takes place in May every year and has been voted have one of the most beautiful courses in the world. It is also the seventh fastest. It is a whole weekend event with Family Mini Marathon at 4.2K, the Allianz Eco Walk 2K and also a skating event called the In-line party at 6.5K. There is also the Volkswagen Prague Marathon Relay for teams.

GOLF

Golf in Prague

If you are a golfer and going to Prague, the two best courses are the Black Bridge Golf Resort and the Golf & Country Club Prague. The Black Bridge course lies just east outside of the city and features beautiful lakes on the 18 great holes. The Golf & Country Club Prague is more centrally located which makes it perfect if you want to go golfing without a car. The 18 holes are located along the Vltava river, which is both there for the scenery but also as a great challenge to avoid when navigating the challenging holes.
