UNESCO World Heritage Sites Panama City - Archaeological Site of Panamá Viejo and Historic District of Panamá

As the oldest continuously occupied European Settlement on the Pacific Coast of the Americas, Panamá Viejo is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition, the site contains the remains of Pre-Columbian Cuevan aboriginal occupation. Panamá Viejo was an important settlement because it had a big influence on town planning in the subsequent colonies.
