OPERA

Muscat Opera House

Royal Opera House Muscat

Located in the Shati Al-Qurm district, this multi-purpose performance arts complex is the main venue for opera in Oman. Inaugurated in 2011, the Royal Opera House in Muscat is a perfect representation of modern Omani architecture with its cubically formed ledge-like sections in the structure, all in chalk-white, make for an amazing sight. Apart from the beautiful architecture, the opera house also features state of the art technology. For example, it is the first opera house in the world using the so called mode23 seatback system, giving the audience valuable information on a display in front of them, for example translation or text to accompany the opera performance. Performing in the opera house is both world famous artists as well as local Arab singers. Don't miss this new opera pearl when you are visiting Oman!
