Ohrid, a lakeside city in Macedonia, is a beautiful and idyllic city that is the perfect holiday destination for nature lovers and outdoorsy kind of people. Known as the Jewel in Macedonia’s Crown, this city surely has so much natural beauty and a vibrant nightlife. Furthermore, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its vast history and heritage. Archeological research has found some of human’s oldest remains in this city and the surrounding lake is over 3 million years old.

When to go to Ohrid

The summer is definitely the most popular time to visit because it features ideal weather conditions and  average temperature around 20 °C (70 °F).  The largest city festival is the summer festival from July to August. It hosts different events that involve music, theatre, and other forms of entertainment. At the end of August, you can see the city’s wonderful annual choir festival. If you can’t make it to either of these, there are several other celebrations throughout the year. Simply check the tourist bureau and see what is happening during your holiday.
