Oakland is a busy port city in the Bay Area in California, USA. If you are a sports buff, you’ll be glad to know that there a tons of sport related things to do in Oakland, especially when it comes to football, basketball, and baseball. You can watch the games of the NFL Oakland Raiders and MLB Oakland Athletics in the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum while the basketball matches of the Golden State Warriors are often held in the Oracle Arena.

There are also lots of things to see at the Oakland Museum of California. The exhibits are divided into different disciplines, like arts, history, and natural sciences. Oakland Marathons

Oakland offers you 5 different marathons from early spring, until the end of summer. The Oakland Marathon and Canyon Meadow Trail Marathon takes place in March. In May you can run the Cinderella Trail Run Marathon and the Canyon Meadow Marathon Trail Run in June.

The Cat Town Café - Oakland Cat Cafe

The Cat Town Café was the first one of its kind to open in the US. Today, the café is divided into two areas, one which serves as a café where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee and something to eat, and the other called ”the Cat Zone”. In the ”Cat Zone” or the cattosphere which it is also called, the cats are running around free and you can play and cuddle with them as much as you like, and if you would happen to fall in love with one of the furrballs, and just can not imagine your life without the company of this cat, don’t worry. All the cats in the Cat Zone are up for adoption.

Golf in Oakland

Just a couple of minutes outside of Oakland you will find Chuck Corica Golf Complex, a golfers paradise with two 18 hole courses and one 9 hole par 3 course. If you are looking for great golf in a fantastic setting, you should look no further.
