Wellington Marathon

The Wellington Marathon takes off at the Westpac Stadium and will take you on a scenic run along the bay areas around Wellington, including Oriental Bay, Balena Bay, Evans Bay and Shelly Bay. As you run there won't be time to stop for an ice cream, but if you pay attention you can make note of the places as you pass them by and return after you have completed your marathon journey. It is of course also possible to join in with the great crowd and just enjoy the day as a spectator, in which case we recommend a stroll around the Queens Wharf. For over 30 years the Wellington Marathon has been a great event in New Zealand. Don't miss it if you are there in December!
