If you’re spending your holiday in Groningen, take time to explore the different shopping streets in the city. The main pedestrianized shopping district is the Herestraat where you can find an assortment of clothes and souvenirs to buy. Folkingestraat is also a picturesque shopping street full of gift shops and bookstores.

 

Museums

Museums abound in the city. The Groningen Museum is highly acclaimed for its extensive collection of contemporary art. Then there’s the Het Noordelijk Scheepvaartmuseum which has documented the history of water transport in northern Europe.
