The historic centre of the capital city of Morocco is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city was conceived during the time of the Protectorate at beginnings of the 20th century, when the city was adapted to a modernist town plan while respecting the earlier Arabo-Muslim heritage. Some of the favourite attractions in the city are the mausoleum of Mohammad V, with its exquisite mosaics, or the beautiful Kasbah with amazing views.
