Golf in Riga

There are several golf clubs in and around Riga where you can spend a leisurely afternoon. One of the most recommended and highly rated golf clubs in Riga is the Ozo Golf Club, just a 10-minute drive from the city center. Another great course can be found at Saliena Golf. Here you can play on 27 different holes on a flat parkland course. The sparsity of trees make it a rather difficult course on windy days and a pretty manageable course on calm days, which all in all makes it a varied experience to play here. Riga Opera House

Latvian National Opera House

This magnificent Latvian opera house was constructed in the 1863 by the Russian architect Ludwig Bohnstedt. It is located near the Pilsetas Canal in the old parts of Riga. Outside the venue is a marvellous garden in which you can take a relaxing walk before the show starts. UNESCO World Heritage Sites Riga - Historic Centre of Riga

Known as Europe’s finest collection of art nouveau architecture, Riga has witnessed the evolution of European history for centuries since its foundation as a port town in the 13th century. For these reasons, Riga’s historic centre is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since the area is quite compact, you can explore it by walking its cobblestone streets and enjoying the beautiful views of the buildings. However, the area is not recommended for clubbing at nights due to scams and problematic situations.

Riga ski vacations - Rich with snow

Latvia may not be a land filled with mountains, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be a good place for skiing. The winters are rich with snow and that, along with its steep slopes, makes it excellent for rapid runs on a snowboard or with skis. You can find several different places to go skiing in Latvia but the one closest to Riga is Baldone, located only 24 miles (40 km) away with great possibilities for alpine skiing. In Riekstu Kalns you have fantastic 350 metres long, steep and active tracks. If you like cross- country skiing you can enjoy the well appointed tracks in the centre of Riga every winter.

Water Parks in Riga - Visit the largest Waterpark in the Baltic states

The water park in Riga, Livu Waterpark, has both an indoor and outdoor area. The outdoors area is relatively small compared to other large parks but it is still the largest water park in Eastern Europe and the Baltic states. Choose between the different pools, slides and other fun attractions. Since there is an indoor area as well it doesn’t matter if the weather is bad, there are other fun options available!
