Pakse – A City With a Taste of Everything

The city of Pakse is one of the most beautiful, frequented, and populated cities in the country of Laos. It is the perfect destination if you want a taste of everything, from endless nightlife to scenic golf getaways. Located near the Xe Don and Mekong River, the city makes for an exciting retreat as a top tourist destination with a strong French influence. Its central location makes it easy to travel to other cities and countries, including Siem Reap, Vientiane, and Bangkok.


Things to do in Pakse

Besides the incredible restaurants, nightlife venues, and shops in Pakse, there are a few must-see attractions to visit. The Golden Buddha is found on a hill with a beautiful view of the city at night.  The Chomphet Stone Sculpture Village and Temple Complex is a quiet and peaceful village full of Buddha carvings and a large Buddha statue. To see authentic drawings and gorgeous views of the Mekon River, visiting the Wat Luang Temple should be on your list.


Pakse Golf

There is plenty things to do in Pakse when it comes to outdoor activities, including eco-tours, trekking, and boating.  To relax, Pakse has plenty of massage parlors and spas located in just about every region of the area.  If you want to play golf, the three biggest courses are Residence Sisouk, Khone Pha Pheng Resort and Golf Club, and the Pakse Golf Course.  Pause golf is a great way to enjoy the tropical outdoors while practicing on your golf swing.


Pakse Nightlife

There are incredible Pakse nightlife venues, restaurants and bars to visit. To experience the Pakse Nightlife properly, you should definitely go to one of the many rooftop bars and enjoy a drink overlooking the Mekong river.


Pakse to Siem Reap

Traveling to any nearby city or country can be quick and easy from Pakse. Pakse to Siem Reap is just six hours by car or one hour by plane.


Pakse to Bangkok

There are great communications from Pakse to Bangkok. It is only about a nine-hour drive or three-hour flight from Pakse to Bangkok. Vientiane, Laos is only about an eight-hour car ride or two-hour flight.


When to go to Pakse

Pakse can be a rather wet city at all times, especially around July. However, the city can be visited just about any time throughout the year, depending on what you plan on doing.  The hottest month is April while the coolest is December.  The hot season is from March to May and the rainy season is from May to October. Pakse can reach average high of around 35 and lows of 18 °C (60 °F).
