Lahore hosts a safari park where you can see common and exotic animals roam freely in a natural habitat. There are also boating and fishing facilities near the lake which will allow you to better explore the area.


International Expo Center

If you want to catch some cultural carnivals, trade exhibitions, and seminars, your best choice of venue would be the Lahore International Expo Center.



A handful of museums can also be checked out within the city. Visit the Lahore Museum for an intensive documentation of the city’s culture and history, and then head to the Shakir Ali Museum and Fakir Khana Museum for different artworks made by great masters.


The Lahore Fort

Of course, your vacation to Lahore won’t be complete without a trip to the Walled or Inner City. Visit the Lahore Fort which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Badshahi Mosque, the Wazir Khan Mosque, and other exceptional tourist attractions inside the Inner City.


When to go to Lahore

The city of Lahore features a semi-arid climate with four distinct seasons plus a rainy monsoon season. Temperatures throughout the year vary from an average low of 6 ºC (42.8 ºF) in January to an average high of 40 °C (104 °F) in June. July to September is the city’s monsoon season, with July being the wettest month.



Lahore hosts several festivals all year round and there’s always  fun things to do in Lahore and something to celebrate. The most notable events in the city are the Basant and the Literary Festival in February, the Mela Chiraghan in March, and the National Horse & Cattle Show in November.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites Lahore- Fort and Shalamar Gardens in Lahore

The fort and the Shalamar gardens in Lahore are two of the greatest pieces of architecture and design of the Mughal civilization, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the fort, 21 monuments have survived since the 16th century, such as palaces and mosques made of marbles and other precious materials and decorated with mosaics with Persian motifs. The Shalimar gardens use traditional Islamic garden design and add Persian influences. They consist on three terraces and are rich basins of water.

Lahore Marathon

If you are an elite international athlete, the Lahore Marathon kicks off with a gala dinner where you can mingle with people from the Pakistan government, corporate leaders and other marathon runners, maybe making a friend for the challenging run you have in front of you. The event is held in the month of March and has been an annual event since 2005. The race will take you through the historical districts of Lahore which can serve as great inspiration for finding places to explore after the race. The race is not only for elite runners either as there are shorter distances you can run if you are more of a casual runner.
