Holiday goers who like to check out the nightlife of the area will enjoy its clubs and bars. Some of the featured ones include: Ange Noir Discotheque, the number one nightlife place to be, which used to be called the Kololo Night Club or Club Silk, which has a state of the art sound system with dancing and plasma TVs; or perhaps the Rouge, which is a lounge club with jazz, salsa or hip hop through the week.

There is also the classy T1Club, with three stocked bars and six plasma TVs; as well as the Club Volts with 22 ft ceilings, dancing, and three areas to choose from; or the Sway Bar and Club, with DJs, all night kitchen and two bars with six plasma TVs.



If you are looking to stay a while for cheap, try the Backpackers Hostel, which is only two kilometers from the city. It has an Internet café, basic cooking facilities, camp refrigerator, 8 dorms, as well as 5 single and 14 double rooms. There are also regular hotels to choose from.



Some of the sights to see include the Uganda Museum, the Kasubi tombs, the Bahai Temple, the Nommo Art Gallery, the Gaddafi National Mosque, or the National Theatre.


When to go to Kampala

Kampala features a tropical monsoon style of climate with two yearly wet seasons. One is from August to December and the other is from February to June.

There are things to do in kampala and events to attend all year,  such as the Christmas festivities in December, New Year’s activities in January, Easter in March or April, the Kampala Film Festival in May, or the Uganda Independence Day on October 9th with lots of fun and excitement.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites Kampala - Tombs of Buganda Kings at Kasubi

The Kasubi Tombs are the major spiritual centre of the Baganda ethnic group, where traditional and cultural practices still take place today and the four previous kings are buried. This site is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site for the traditional meaning it carries and for the way it is built using natural elements. The main tomb building is a spacious circular one made of wooden poles and covered with spear grass.

Golf in Kampala

There is one golf club in Kampala: Uganda Golf Course. It is an 18 hole par 72 course that will challenge you with elevation changes and big trees trying to block your path. It is probably as beautiful as it is challenging, a perfect place to relax and unwind with a round of golf.
