Fukuoka Marathon

The Fukuoka Marathon is being held in December every year in the port city Fukuoka, located on the south-most island of Japan. The marathon course follows the beautiful coastline, starting of in Ohori Park. The race makes a loop halfway into the race, allowing the runners to see some of the inland as well before finishing in the Heiwadal Stadium in front of a big crowd. The race follows the topography of the island, so the ground is flat making it a gentle race if you are new to marathon running. If you are in Fukuoka in December this is a great opportunity to take part in a Fukuoka tradition.
