Castello – The old Town

Castello is the old town of Cagliari. Two of the original walls are still standing, as well as two medieval towers where you can have amazing views of the city. The old town is filled with historic churches, artistic museums such as the National Archaeological Museum, and many interesting bars and nightclubs.



Speaking of nightlife, there are plenty of clubs and bars on the island. Besides the old town, you can experience a pulsating nightlife scene in the districts of the Marina and Stampace.

The club plays in the Stadium Comunale Sant’Elia, a huge sports venue that has hosted the FIFA World Cup and other national and international athletic meets.


When to go to Cagliari

Cagliari features a Mediterranean climate with dry and hot summers and mild winters. May is  one of the city’s high travel seasons because it hosts the Feast of St. Ephysisus, the most important religious festival of the year. May also sees the sea procession of St. Francis and the Cagliari Fair. In June, there is a festival honoring farmers and shepherds while a Jazz Expo is held in November.
