When to go to Goa

Because Goa lies in the tropical climate zone influenced by the Arabian Sea, it experiences a tropical monsoon climate. The weather is hot and humid throughout the year but the monsoon rains from June to September can cool down the heat. In summer, maximum day temperatures can reach up to 35 °C (95 °F) with a higher heat index. The short winter season is only slightly cooler, with average temperatures ranging from 21 to 28 °C (70 to 82 °F).

Festivals make up a huge portion of Goa’s rich culture. The Goan Carnival, celebrated at the start of the Lenten season, is one of the most awaited events in the state. There are also a number of religious and secular festivities in Goa, plus a variety of local celebrations in each town and village.
