If you are into golf, you can check in at the Guadalajara Country Club which is located in the Hidalgo district. This country club is reputed as one of the finest golf courses in Mexico.

When to go to Guadalajara

In the city, summers are warm and rainy while winters are mild and dry. March is considered the driest month in Guadalajara while July is the wettest.
The best time to book a holiday in the city is between October and November. During these months, the weather is pleasant and mild. The popular Guadalajara International Book Fair is also held in November.

The international Guadalajara Film Festival is in March each year. This film festival showcases Mexican and Latin American independent films as well as foreign films from around the world.

Golf in Gaudalajara

There are a couple of great courses near Gaudalajara, and most are open to the public. The closest, Guadalajara Country Club is only open to members so you need to go about 5 kilometers further to reach Atlas Country Club where you can play on their amazing 18 hole course, featuring wide fairways and great views of the Mexican landscape. Other great courses include Las Lomas Club de Golf, Las Canadas Country Club and El Cielo Country Club, all 18 hole courses located within 15 kilometers of the city center.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites Guadalajara - Hospicio Cabañas de Guadalajara

Built during the 19th century, the hospice Cabañas de Guadalajara had the purpose of offering care and housing for anyone who might need it such as orphans, elderly, or handicapped people. This hospice is different from the others in its simple and harmonic design, and also in the beautiful frescoes by José Clemente Orozco, one of the greatest painters of the time, considered a masterpiece of Mexican art. Since 1997, the hospice Cabañas de Guadalajara is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Guadalajara Marathon

The Guadalajara Marathon is so much more than just a marathon, it's a fun event for everyone involved, not just the runners. The race takes place in October, has a capacity of 4000 runners and the run takes you through the beautiful city of Guadalajara.
