It is not uncommon in Munich to find beer that is infused with lemonade. Since it tastes nothing like a beer, you may drink more than intended without realizing!

Munich Zoo – Hellabrunn Zoo

Munich Opera House

Nationaltheater München

Home of the Bavarian State Opera, Nationaltheater München is the primary venue for opera in Munich. The building has gone through substantial changes over the years. The theater we see today is a result of the renovations and extensions made in 1963, featuring the world's third largest stage where only Opéra Bastille and the Grand Theatre in Warsaw is bigger. The opera performed is not only of the highest quality, it also has a history of having world premières. In the late 1800's, this was home to Richard Wagner's many great works and today the opera house still features some of the best opera performances in the world.

Katzentempel - Cat Cafe Munich

When visiting Munich you can visit Cafe Katzentempel. The café offer a menu of vegan, home made food and you can enjoy either breakfast the whole day, or come for coffee and cake as well as for lunch and dinner. Cafe Katzentempel also offer different merchandise items and toys for cats. They have around 6 cats and the cats can either be with the guest or relax in their "cat room“, which is not accessible for the guests.

Munich Marathon

The Munich Marathon is an annual marathon festival held in the month of October. The event is a long standing tradition, being established in 1983. The race will take you through the inner city of Munich centering around the great park English Garden and the Olympiapark. Apart from the main marathon there is also a half-marathon and a 10k run if you are more of a casual runner. People who have participated in the marathon witness that the atmosphere is great all throughout the marathon with entertainment and a cheerful crowd. If you are not into running but still want to experience a marathon, you can join in with the spectators and have a good time anyway!

There are many opportunities for golfers near Munich. One of the best in the area is called Golfpark Munich Aschheim, a great club with a challenging course set 15 minutes drive from the Munich Airport. In the northeast of Munich there is an indoor water park called Therme Erding. This is definitely the place to if you are a big fan of water slides since this park offers a lot of them. For those of you who just want to relax there is a spa available on the area and during the summers the water park opens up an outside area as well!
