Or head to the Place de l’Hôtel de Ville to start your shopping adventure and continue on to other streets to find boutiques and other shops.
Rennes features an Oceanic climate, which means it has winter and falls that are rainy and windy and spring and summers that are sunny and mild.
Head there in July for the Festival des Tombees de la Nuit, which celebrates music, theatre, film, mime and poetry. Food lovers should come in September for the Festival Gourmand, in which local chefs and restaurants demonstrate their talents in a special competition. Or come in June to celebrate the ArtRock festival or in July for the Tombees de la Nuit, which features concerts, plays, storytelling and other entertainment.
