Vancouver ski vacations - Close to famous Whistler

The third largest city of Canada, Vancouver, is closely located to high mountains that provide the city with many small places with good skiing opportunities. Only two hours away you will find one of the most famous ski resorts in the world, Whistler, where most of the alpine skiing was held in the winter Olympics of 2010. Whistler consists out of a collection of areas between Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain. As the largest ski resort in North America, it offers you a total of 134 miles (216 km) of amazing ski slopes. Whistler Mountain has a drop height of 5 020 ft (1 530m) and Blackcomb Mountains drop height lands at 5 279 ft (1 609 m).

Andorra la Vella ski vacations - Amazing skiing

In Andorra la Vella you can experience amazing skiing with pistes located at over 8 202 ft (2 500 m). The biggest ski area, Grandvalira, consists out of more than 130 miles (210 km) of ski slopes and offers you loads of ski slopes for everybody, whether you are a beginner or a pro. If you are looking for more advanced offpiste skiing it is available at a height of 8 530 ft (2 600 m). The smaller ski area, Vallnord, constitutes about 62 miles (100 km) in ski slopes and it is divided into two different systems that is called Arinsal/ Pal and Arcalís. Arinsal/ Pal is perfect for the beginner and families with children, but it also provides the challenger with some black ski slopes. Arcalís on the other hand is very appreciated for its good offpiste at 8 530 ft (2 600m). Bern ski vacations - All degrees of difficulty

With the Alps as a neighbor Switzerland’s capital Bern offers you a number of small ski areas, perfect for all of you who love skiing. All it takes to get there is a short car-ride for about 45 minutes. If you are looking for an advance and to challenge yourself Mürren is full of black pistes. Every year the alpine world elite do slalom and downhill racing in Wengen, close to Grindelwald. This is a great place for you to test your skills. However, if you are looking for some more child- friendly skiing, you should visit Adelboden and Meiringen- Hasliberg. They offer a lot of blue pistes and beautiful views at 7 546 ft (2 300 m).

Santiago de Chile ski vacations - Ski at the biggest resort in Chile

When in Santiago de Chile you have four ski resorts nearby. Ski Portillo is one of the most famous ones, located 92 miles (148 km) away. Aspen ski vacations - Big variety, only minutes apart

Calgary in Canada serves you with many lovely ski resorts where you can find something for everyone. Only 45 minutes away you will find Nakiska, where the Olympics were held in 1988. Helsinki ski vacations - Experience 112 miles of ski trails

In Helsinki you can go skiing as long as you have the weather on your side. Here you have about 112 miles (180 km) in ski trails, which is taken care of as long into the spring as possible, among others in Centralparken. Only about 6 miles (9 km) away you can find one of the capitals most popular ski terrains, called Svedängens friluftspark. You easily go there by bus or car. The season usually starts in December and continues on, depending on the weather, until April. Turin ski vacations - Paradise for intermediates

Not a beginner, still no pro? Within an hour drive from Turin you find Sauze D’Oulx and Bardonecchia. Sauze D’Oulx is the ultimate place for intermediates since it has over 249 miles (400 km) of runs for them to choose from. All visitors are also provided with a spectacular view over the rising mountains, due to the location up on a mountain shelf. If you are interested in the Milky Way terrain you get access to it through here. Bardonecchia is also a very good place for intermediates to go. Here you can choose from about 87 miles (140 km) of slopes to slide down from. Most of them have great views and are widely spread. If you don’t mind going a little further there are more places worth a visit about 90 minutes away. For example Sestriere, Cervinia, Cormayeur and Gressoney.

Denver ski vacation - Longest season in the state

Within 35 miles (56km) of Denver you find the closest ski resort, Echo Mountain, where you can go night skiing if you like. Here the season starts in mid December and continues on until late April or early May. Echo’s best feature is its terrain park and free- ride terrain where you can use the rails and jumps located all around the mountain. At 10 500 ft (3 200m) you have Echo’s base elevation and the vertical drop falls at 660 ft (201 m). The whole area has a total of three lifts and 15 trails. 52 miles (85 km) away from Denver you find Loveland which is a good place for the intermediate or expert skiers since 87 percent of the trails are made for that degree of difficulty. The remaining 13 percent is for beginners. You can choose out of 93 different trails and 10 lifts. The season is one of the longest in the state, early October until mid May. 67 miles (108 km) northwest of Denver you have the closest major ski area called Winter Park. This is the place to go if you are a beginner or an intermediate since the area offers many cruiser trails that are well taken care of. You can also try some of the Colorados most popular tree skiing here. As a total the ski area offers you 143 trails to choose from and the season most often starts mid November and continues on until mid April.

The most popular ski area in Arizona is located on the scenic San Francisco Peaks and is called Arizona Snowbowl. It offers 5 lifts and 32 different trails. Although that is the most popular resort, it isn’t the largest. Sunrise Park, located in McNary in the Arizona White Mountains, is bigger. Tianjin ski vacations - Experience man- made slopes

Close to Tianjin you have four skiing resorts to choose from. Yulong Ski Resort, Jizhou International Ski Resort, Panshan Ski Resort and Shuidi Ski Center. Yulong Ski Resort, the first large- scale ski resort in Tianjin, offers slopes for all skill levels and ages.
