OPERA

Dallas Opera House

Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House

This red cylinder shaped opera house, designed by American architect Spencer de Grey, has one of the most beautiful interior design details for the more visually appreciative opera goer. The illuminating 318-rod chandelier located below the ceiling is actually not only a design detail, it can also be incorporated into the performances. Every rod in the chandelier is connected in an LED light system and can be remotely controlled by the on site engineers. This means that the chandelier can be used as a mood setter during the shows, changing colors depending on what is happening on the stage. This is probably better seen in person than described in text, so make sure to not miss it while you are there!
