When to go to Zagreb

Zagreb has an oceanic climate with four distinct seasons. Drizzle and rain are frequent in autumn and snow is common in winter. Zagreb is very entertaining no matter the time of year. Spring and fall offer many cultural events and winter is the best time for skiing and winter activities.


July to August is the city’s peak season. When you take your trip to Zagreb during these months, expect large crowds and high accommodation rates. April to June is the off-season and you can enjoy fine weather and low hotel rates during this time.

If you like running then register to take part of the annual Zagreb Marathon that runs a scenic course throughout the city. The Zagreb Marathon is recognized by the International Association of Athletes Foundation and has hundreds of people running in it every year.

Zagreb Opera House

Golf in Zagreb

There are two great golf clubs in Zagreb. Golf & Country Club Zagreb offers an 18 hole course and a 9 hole course. It is located very close to the city along the Sava River and is usually described as a rather difficult course to play on, even challenging professionals thanks to the back tees that can be chosen to make the course longer. Golf Club Schloss Mokrice features the other 18 hole golf course located near Zagreb. This course is also challenging, making sure that you use all of your clubs and your wit as you traverse the scenic course.
