UNESCO World Heritage Sites Dubrovnik - Old City of Dubrovnik

Known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik was a powerful spot in the Mediterranean Sea from the 13th century onwards. Having been on the World Heritage List since 1979, the city has been under major restoration after having suffered from an earthquake in 1667 and an armed conflict in the 1990s. Despite the tragic incidents the city has seen, Dubrovnik managed to preserve its churches, palaces and other attractions from the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque periods remarkably well. The Town Hall or the Franciscan Monastery are examples of the many stunning buildings that you will find in the Old City, so put on comfortable shoes, get ready to walk a lot, go up and down uncountable steps and get soaked in the history of Dubrovnik!
