The entire Mount Huangshan has a breathtaking landscape, boasting of pine trees, rock formations, and breathtaking views of the sunrise and sunset. Because of its beauty and charm, Huangshan is considered as a national park by the government of China.



You can also opt to ride a cable car to reach one of the mountain summits, but walking and hiking are still the most ideal way to explore Huangshan. There are different trails throughout the mountain and you can see hot springs, cross bridges, and find interesting granite peaks as you go along.



If you are planning to spend a night camping at one of the mountain peaks, you can either set up your own camp or choose a more convenient accommodation at the top of the mountain. There are restaurants, hotels, and other facilities that cater to hikers, mountaineers, and campers.


When to go to Huangshan

Huangshan has four distinct seasons, each of which features different mountain sceneries. Spring brings light showers and the flowers are in full bloom. Summer is the best time for cloud viewing. Autumn is defined by a contrast of colors and the changing of leaves is a great sight to behold. Winter covers Huangshan in snow and frost, making the peaks and rocks glitter like a crystal white fairyland.

Weather-wise, the best time to visit Mount Huangshan is the autumn season because it is relatively drier than the rest of the year.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites Huangshan - Mount Huangshan

Mount Huangshan in the Anhui province of China will leave you in awe just like it has been doing for centuries to poets, painters and, more recently, photographers. The literary and artistic importance, natural scenery and flora and fauna of the mountain have put its name on UNESCO’s World Heritage List since 1990. One thing to keep in mind before going: it is quite possible for the weather during your visit to be misty or even rainy, but don’t let that upset you, because the views will be just as amazing and even more magical.
