Brno Exhibition Center

One of the most iconic structures in the city is the Brno Exhibition Center. This famous building plays host to a number of trade fairs and exhibits every year.

 

Brno Zoo

You can see and mingle with hundreds of animals at the Brno Zoo. Polar bears, tigers, seals, chimpanzees and other animals provide wonderful entertainment for visitors.

 

Nightlife

An eclectic range of nightlife and party venues are concentrated around the main square and along the student districts of Starobrněnská and Dominikánská.

Brno features an oceanic climate bordering on a humid continental climate. Summers are warm and mild, with temperatures ranging from 11.4 to 24.5 °C (52.5 to 76.1 °F). Winters are cold, snowy, and often freezing, with daily average temperatures ranging from -0.6 to -2.5 °C (30.9 to 27.5 °F).

 

Festivals

One of the biggest festivals in Brno is the Ignis Brunensis, a fireworks competition festival held in June. Fireworks soar above the magnificent night sky of Brno, particularly on the dam lake and the town center.

In September, Brno hosts a fascinating wine festival called the Slavnosti vína. This event celebrates the fruitful harvest in the wine-producing region surrounding the city.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites Brno- Tugendhat Villa in Brno

Designed by Mies van der Rohe, the Rugendhat Villa is a masterpiece of Modern architecture that included radical new ideas of the movement and which was included on UNESCO’s World Heritage List on 2001. The villa was designed for a married couple of wealthy industrial families in a residential area of the city of Brno. The whole building and every piece of furniture were designed by van der Roe, which brings balance to the whole site and makes it an icon of the Modern movement. If you plan on visiting the Tugendhat Villa, make sure to book tickets in advance, and by advance, we mean REALLY in advance: according to the official website, it is recommended to book tickets at least two months in advance.
