OPERA

Bologna Opera House

Teatro Comunale di Bologna

While the exterior may be humble in its looks, when you get inside the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, you will be amazed by the interior design. The venue is huge with beautiful balconies where the attendance can enjoy both local and internationally acclaimed operas. The ceiling is clad with masonry which isn't just stunning to look at, it was also practical at the time it was built in the 18th century to protect the opera house from fires, which was a severe issue for big buildings like opera houses in that time. This didn't stop the building from having its fair share of fires though, and the venue has had several redesigns over the years but the sky-like ceiling is still in place and is a must see.

GOLF

Golf in Bologna

The premier place for golf in Bologna can be had at Golf Club Bologna, the only 18 hole course near the city (if you travel about 20km outside of the city your choice of golf courses increases). It was built in 1959 and has since been a place where the people of Bologna go when they are in need of a relaxing and fun round of golf. The environment here is beautiful with views of the surrounding countryside, and the course is challenging while still good for newer players. A great course in a great city!
