Minsk is the beautiful capital of Belarus, which is an ancient city, and the tourists flock here to get a good slice of its medieval past. It is mentioned in the Medieval Chronicles that date back almost a thousand years. The city is situated on the Svislach and Nyamiha rivers in a picturesque setting, which used to be an ancient trade route that connected the Black Sea to the Baltic Sea.

Minsk National Library

The National Library is known as the ‘diamond of knowledge’. It stands 74 meters tall with 23 floors, with a capacity to store over 14 million books. On the top floor of the building, there is an open air observation pad where you can get a fantastic view of the entire city. It is a definite must-go for a first timer in Minsk. You can also catch a quick lunch in this area since there are quite a few good restaurants around here.

Animal lovers will love this small yet beautiful zoo located on the outskirts of the city.
