Shopping in Perth is mostly near Murray Street and Hay Street at the pedestrian malls, arcades, factory outlet stores, and other retail locations. Swan Valley features lots of restaurants and cafes, as well as abundant produce stalls.


Perth Concert Hall

Perth Concert Hall is where the West Australian Symphony orchestra plays, as well as hosting other events. It is located near the Supreme Court Gardens.


Perth Zoo

Created in 1898, the Perth Zoo has 41 acres of space and 1,258 animals representing 164 species, and a large collection of plant life. Three areas: Walkabout, Rainforest and Savanna mimic animals’ natural habitats.



Just south of city you’ll find the suburb of Fremantle. Fremantle is not so much a sleeping suburb as a vibrant place, filled with restaurants, clubs, bars and market places. If you love coffee, a definite don’t miss is a visit to the Cappuccino strip, an entire street filled with coffee bars and cafes.


When to go to Perth

Perth features a mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers from December to February, and mild, wet winters. Summers are generally very hot and dry, lasting from December to late March, with February generally being the hottest month of the year, while winters are relatively mild and wet. Perth is very sunny and gets more than 8 hours of sunshine a day. Temperatures range from a low of 7.7 °C (45.9°F) in July to a high of 18 °C (64.9°F) in February.

Perth Marathon

Every year the city Perth hosts The Perth Marathon and Relay Marathon. The course starts at the WAMC Headquarters and then shows you picturesque views while running through East Perth and South Perth and then the finish is at the same place as where you start. Perth also has a marathon called the City to Surf, which welcomes both serious runners and those of you who want to walk or just take it a little bit slower. It is seen as both a serious race and a "fun run" since everyone does whatever suits them best.
