Temperatures range from a median of 25.1 °C (77.2 °F) in January 17 °C (63 °F) in the summer months. Notice that the warmest days are in January, so the seasons are the opposite from northern hemisphere climates.

Buenos Aires Opera

Buenos Aires Marathon

The Buenos Aires Marathon has been home for runner enthusiasts since 1984 when it was first held and usually takes place during the second week of October. The race starts in Parque San Benito and goes past the many beautiful parks and lakes down south including the Palermo Golf Course, Plaza Holanda and the university area around Plaza de las Naciones Unidas. After reaching the Matanza River the race turns up north again, but this time following the beautiful coastline. It is one of the most beautiful inner city marathons in the world and a great way of experiencing the coast of Buenos Aires!

Golf in Buenos Aires

There are quite a few golf courses to chose from in the area surrounding Buenos Aires. If you are the kind of golfer that wants to experience a little piece of history in your golfing ventures, the San Andrés Golf Club might be the one for you. It was built in 1892 and is the oldest golf club in Argentina, and also one of the most played as it is easy to access and player friendly. Another great club is the Jockey Club, which has two courses, one for the casual golfers and one with a more challenging layout.
